About Virgin Voting®

picture-211Noah Gray launched Virgin Voting® to encourage young people who were eligible to vote for the first time in the 2008 Presidential Election to get informed about the candidates, as well as to register and VOTE, in both the primaries and general election. Beginning in 2007, when he was 15 years old, he began covering a number of presidential debates and campaign events, interviewed almost all of the candidates from both the Democratic and Republican parties, as well as talking to young people about how they were preparing to vote for the first time. This all came together in his “Virgin Voting” documentary.

In order to further motivate young people to vote, he launched the Virgin Voting® “Doing It for the Very First Time” YouTube Video Contest where contestants were asked to document their first time voting through a short video. Noah announced the contest and winners on CNN’s American Morning, and appeared on the show several times between the last presidential debate in October, and the election in November, producing news packages from a young person’s perspective (visit www.virginvoting.com/press to view).

Noah is continuing his mission to encourage young people to get informed about government and politics, so they are prepared to vote when they are eligible at age 18. Now 17 years old, Noah hopes to be voting along with millions of young people in the 2010 Midterm Elections.

Virgin Voting® “Preparing for Midterms” is an opportunity for young first time voters to have a conversation about candidates running for office in 2010, including Governors and U.S. Senators in the states where these seats are being vacated, as well as to discuss issues that are important to them.
